Authentic Vacations is delighted to offer travel insurance which helps protect against trip cancellation, trip interruptions and delays, emergency medical expenses, lost or delayed baggage and much more! Your policy includes a 24-hour travel emergency service to assist you should any problems arise. Coverage can be purchased anytime up to 15 days prior to departure. However, the policy must be purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit payment to Authentic Vacations to be eligible for coverage for pre-existing medical conditions (see below for more information).

  • How To Purchase Your Travel Insurance

    To purchase your insurance, simply contact your assigned Authentic Vacations Destination Expert. He/She will request that you supply some basic required information and once received, will enroll you in the travel insurance program.

  • Travel Insurance Prices

    Insurance pricing is very straight-forward, as it is percentage-based, in relation to the total cost of your trip. Your premium will be 7.7% of the total amount to be insured.

    **Please note: you may choose to include coverage for your airline tickets, even if you purchased flights independently.

  • Waiver of Pre-Existing Medical Condition(s)

    If you have a pre-existing medical condition(s), it is essential that you purchase your travel insurance policy within 14 days of your initial deposit payment to Authentic Vacations. Policies purchased thereafter will not include coverage for your pre-existing condition(s)

 

POLICY COVERAGE & INCLUSIONS:

 

  • Trip Cost: Trip Cancellation

    Protects 100% of your travel investment if you cancel your trip for a covered reason.

  • Trip Cost: Trip Interruption

    Protects up to 150% of your travel investment if your trips is interrupted for a covered reason.

  • $750 Trip Delay

    Reimburses up to $750 for additional accommodations or travel expenses incurred, if you are delayed for more than 6 consecutive hours.

  • $1,000: Lost, Stolen or Damaged Baggage & Travel Documents

    Reimburses you if your luggage is lost, damaged, or stolen while you are on your trip.

  • $500: Baggage Delay

    Reimburses you for the purchase of essential items if your bags are delayed for more than 24 hours.

  • $25,000 Medical Expenses

    Covers necessary medical expenses incurred for a covered reason while on your trip. $750 coverage applies to dental expenses.

  • $250,000 Emergency Medical Evacuation and/or Repatriation of Remains

    Covers evacuation and transportation to the nearest suitable medical facility, and/or home.

  • $25,000 Accidental Death or Dismemberment

    Pays a benefit for loss of life or limb, if the loss occurs within 180 days of the causal accident during your trip.

  • $20,000 Occupancy Upgrade

    Reimbursement of the additional cost you incur as the result of a change in the per person occupancy rate for your travel arrangements – i.e. – if your Traveling Companion’s trip is canceled for a covered unforeseen reason and you do not cancel your trip

  • 24-Hour Worldwide Travel Assistance

    Pre-Trip travel information and advice. Assistance in replacement of lost or stolen travel documents, transfer of funds or legal referrals. Worldwide medical and dental referrals, 24-hour health information, replacement of corrective lenses and medical devices.
