The Daffodil Hotel

Set on the shores of Grasmere, the Lake District’s largest lake, The Daffodil Hotel is surrounded by stunning scenery. The hotel reopened in July 2012 after a major redevelopment. The refurbishment resulted in the addition of 78 bedrooms, as well as a new restaurant serving fantastic British food with wonderful lake views. Grasmere Village: On The Map: Grasmere is located in England's Lake District, in the northwest of the country, 45 miles south of the City of Carlisle. Grasmere takes its name from the adjacent lake, at the heart of the England's spectacular Lake District. The village is overlooked by Helm Crag Hill, known locally as The Lion & The Lamb or The Young Lady at the Piano (depending on which side it is viewed from!). Aside from stunning scenic beauty, Grasmere is best known for its close association with the celebrated poet, William Wordsworth. Wordsworth lived in Grasmere for fourteen years, and sometimes dined with Sir Walter Scott at The Swan, a 17th-century Coaching Inn that is still in operation today. Wordsworth described Grasmere as 'The loveliest spot that man hath ever found. A number of popular walks begin near the centre of the village, including the ascent of Helm Crag and a longer route up to Fairfield. Grasmere draws many tourists every year, and as a result, you'll find a variety of wonderful gift shops and places to eat in the village. Most of the buildings in the village date from the 19th or early 20th Century, with the exception of 'Church Stile' - a row of 17th Century cottages, which is owned by the National Trust of England.

Led by their Executive Chef and creative Kitchen Team, The Daffodil offers a dining experience not to be missed. Menus feature some of the county’s finest local produce to bring you dishes of the highest quality, many being traditional classics presented with a modern twist. The Dining Room: Serving breakfast, lunch and an A La Carte Menu in the evening – The Dining Room is the perfect informal yet inviting setting complete with lake views and the option for private dining should you require. The Sitting Room: Cozy couches, indulgent interiors and yet more lake views make The Sitting Room the ideal spot for relaxing with a light bite from our Lounge Menu, a coffee or perhaps try one of our Afternoon Teas. The Bar: Ready to refuel you after a walk on the fells – our stylish Bar serves traditional soups, sandwiches and lighter snacks, not forgetting some of the area’s best local ales.
