THE CULTURAL AND NATURAL WONDERS OF NORWAY & ICELAND

Rufflets Country House Hotel

Rufflets Country House Hotel in St Andrews, is one of the oldest & best country house hotels in Scotland. This idyllic turreted mansion house, set on 10 acres of award-winning gardens, has been in the same family ownership since 1952. With an enviable location on the outskirts of St Andrews, you can enjoy the tranquility of the Fife countryside with the bustle of the town only 1.5 miles away. Rufflets offers a wide range of accommodation options, with 24 individually designed bedrooms. The elegant and spacious Terrace Restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or for a larger family gathering, and the hotel's own garden supplies much of the fresh produce used in the seasonally changing menus. Golf, of course, is the main attraction in the area. St Andrews may be the acclaimed 'Home of Golf' but the medieval town also offers excellent shopping, art galleries, restaurants and museums. Dining

Terrace Restaurant: Decorated with light faux wood paneling, the deep terracotta walls are enhanced by a collection of striking still life prints featuring the work of the Scottish Colorists, Cadell and Peploe. The spacious restaurant has an unfussy, classic contemporary feel to it. Tables, clothed in crisp white linen, are arranged to take full advantage of the space and the views of the formal terraced garden. The fully upholstered, high backed chairs are designed for comfort. In the evening, sparkling glass, candlelight, fine china and floodlit gardens set the scene for a relaxed dining experience, whether it is for a romantic dinner for two or a larger group. The 2AA Rosette Restaurant, which features in all the major guides, offers a daily changing, fixed price menu with ingredients sourced locally, some even grown in our own gardens.
