From the moment you arrive at the Portmarnock Hotel, the friendly staff will take care of your every need. This leaves you free to walk on the award-winning, magnificent 'Velvet Strand' beach, play on the hotel's championship Dublin golf links course, enjoy pampering in the health & beauty clinic or dine on delicious, locally sourced cuisine. This luxurious 4 star hotel, combines modern elegance with all the grandeur of a 19th century home. The land on which the hotel now stands, was originally part of the Jameson Family Estate (of Irish Whiskey fame) and the house itself was called St. Marnock's House. King Edward VII often visited the Jamesons and on his last official visit in 1907 he unveiled a plaque which can still be seen in the secret south garden.

It is no surprise to find that the main restaurant is named after the artist Walter Osborne who painted the very same view from the hotel that you will see in a different light throughout the day. The menus are developed by our Executive Chef, who presides over his culinary masterpieces daily. In the Osborne Brasserie, a wonderful choice of international cuisine is served with style and friendliness, along with a superb selection of wines.
The Seaview Lounge:
The new fully refurbished Seaview Lounge is a place where you can enjoy dining in a relaxed setting with magnificent views over Dublin Bay and of Irelands’ Eye - one of Irelands’ best known landmarks. Ideal rendezvous for meeting one's friends for coffee, light meals or a treat of 'Afternoon Tea-by-the Sea'.
The Jameson Bar:
The Jameson Bar, in the old Jameson House, with its original oak panelling and high ceilings, is the ideal venue for a leisurely drink. William Jameson and his family lived in the gracious home, the oldest part of the hotel, which dates back to 1847. In 1907, his friends King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra celebrated the marriage between members of the Haig and Jameson families by unveiling a plaque in the garden. Today, a copy of the plaque welcomes our visitors at reception, wishing them both peace and love.
