A more fitting setting for the gastronomic delights prepared daily for discerning guests could not be imagined. The food in The Great Room Restaurant is inspired by the classics, yet allows the excellence of each individual ingredient to shine through. One can taste the subtle flavours of each component, each element complementing one another perfectly. This is a showcase for food as it should be, using the best of local produce. Enhancing the stunning food experience is a wine list which endeavours to remain unsurpassed in Ireland. It has been carefully constructed and changes regularly to reflect the flavours of the season, the best new wines and classic vintages. This graceful experience would not be complete without the careful attention and professional service of our highly trained staff. The Bar: The Bar at The Merchant Hotel is a classic, multi award-winning cocktail bar. This beautiful room has many wonderful original architectural features. Antique Baccarat chandeliers and a stunning antique fire complement the design. A cocktail list of biblical proportions ensures that the diverse tastes of all cocktail connoisseurs will be met! Furthermore, the refined simplicity of the food menu provides a relaxed yet elegant alternative to the fine dining experience in The Great Room Restaurant. We are proud to state that The Bar at The Merchant Hotel is officially the 'World’s Best Hotel Bar'. The Merchant Hotel was presented this prestigious award and two others ('World's Best Cocktail Menu' and 'World's Best Drinks Selection') at the world famous and internationally acclaimed Spirit Awards, as part of the 'Tales of the Cocktail Festival' in New Orleans. The Merchant was the only European venue to achieve any awards at this prestigious event. The Cloth Ear: The Cloth Ear is The Merchant Hotel's comfortable public bar. The warm and welcoming interior provides the ideal environment to relax and enjoy yourself in style. Combining both modern and traditional design features with a healthy dose of eccentric touches - the many unique items of vintage and antique clothing, the wooden moose and deer heads and the classic 1930's - 1950's sheet music that adorns the walls. The food in The Cloth Ear is intrinsically comforting. Inspired by homemade favourites, it is nostalgic yet fresh and creative, making use of the best locally sourced seasonal produce. A selection of daily specials is also a feature of The Cloth Ear dining experience, allowing the chefs to really capitalise on the best and freshest seasonal ingredients. Berts Bar: Berts Bar encapsulates the sleek elegance of the art-deco era, complemented by the very best in live jazz, fabulous cocktails and mouth-watering food.
