On The Map: Luss is located on the western shore of Loch Lomond, just off the main A82 road. Stirling is just about 1 hour to the east on the A82 & A811 roads.

Magnificently situated on the shores of Loch Lomond, Luss is a postcard-pretty village. Originally founded in mediaeval times, most of the current town was built by local landowners in the early 1800s, to house workers at the nearby slate mine. The mine has long since ceased to contribute to the economy, but its legacy - a very cute main street of identical sandstone and slate cottages (often festooned with flowers), attracts many visitors. Loch Lomond is of course easily accessible from Luss, and there are wonderful views of Ben Lomond mountain from the town's pier. Luss became a Conservation Town after being bypassed by the busy A82 road, which greatly reduced traffic through the village. An interesting diversion is Luss Church & Graveyard, founded in 1875. The interior of the church is well worth a look - in particular the Scots pine rafters and Victorian stained-glass windows. Luss also boasts both a kiltmaker and a bagpipe works!

Colquhoun’s Restaurant and Lounge are the perfect place to relax and unwind and watch the changing landscape of the loch, the comfy sofas and floor to ceiling windows make this a perfect viewing spot and when the Scottish weather allows our Terrace provides a sun trap for dining and drinking al fresco. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can enjoy drinks at the bar.
