Plymouth Hoe (The Hoe) is a large public open space, where Sir Francis Drake reputedly played his last game of bowls before engaging with the Spanish Armada in 1588. The Hoe is also home to the iconic red & white Smeaton’s Tower Lighthouse, Tinside Lido and Royal Citadel.
