SMALL GUIDED VACATIONS: EUROPE AWAITS!

Icelandair Hotel Vik

At Icelandair Hotel Vik you will experience a charming hotel with all the trimmings. The main building has 46 rooms decorated in a contemporary style and designed to reflect the natural surroundings, the beach and the cliff-side birdlife. The views from the rooms are unique whether they face the cliffs or the sea and the Reynisdrangar Pillars. The older wing of Icelandair hotel Vik is the home to 32 small economy rooms. The owners of the hotel have been welcoming guests for a number of years and have happily provided them with information about local services and adventures to be had in the area.

The hotel is located in the village of Vik in Myrdalur Valley, a particularly lovely and tranquil village that is a joy to stroll around. On closer examination, the village has numerous hidden gems, as does the entire area which boasts of some of the most magnificent landscapes in Iceland. Here you are surrounded by glaciers, the sea, and extensive sands. The rough seas along the entire coast form a contrast with the Myrdalsjokull Glacier which towers over the region, magical in all its glory. The Myrdalur Valley is particularly fertile and renowned for its diverse birdlife. There are few places elsewhere in Iceland where you will find such a variety of vegetation and flowers.

The puffin, the bird with the colourful beak, draws in travelers, and no wonder for this is a rare and beautiful bird. Walking or driving up onto Mt. Reynisfjall will bring you up close to this unique bird. Taking a boat trip from Dyrholar, moreover, will allow you to see a variety of seabird species up close, such as guillemots, auks, fulmars, kittiwakes, and numerous others. The natural gems of the Reynisdrangar Pillars, Reynisfjara Beach, Dyrholaey Island, and Solheimajokull Glacier all attract attention, given the rarity of having so many natural wonders in one location.
