The east-facing rooms look out over the fruit gardens and the mountainside stretching up towards the majestic Hardangervidda mountain plain. The west-facing rooms provide wonderful views of the scenic Sørfjord (Hardangerfjord) and the Folgefonna glacier. You can enjoy both lazy mornings and late summer nights on the balcony, taking in the huge contrasts in the scenery as the light changes.

Dining
Spisesalen (Restaurant)
All meals are served in the dining room, known as Spisesalen. The hotel is well known for its huge “Ullensvang buffet” – with an impressive range of dishes from the proud chefs, mostly home-made food.
“Zanoni” – A la carte restaurant
“Zanoni” is our intimate à la carte restaurant, offering both Norwegian and international dishes with an Italian influence.
The kitchen has an open design and the restaurant is modern and stylish with wonderful views of the Sørfjord (Hardangerfjord) and the Folgefonna glacier.
Zanoni restaurant is open during the summer season (June to mid-August) from Monday to Saturday
Lobby bar
There is a small lobby bar beside reception, serving sandwiches, cakes, other light dishes as well as local drinks. Open from 08.00 to 22.00.
The Bar
The hotel's main bar is located on the 1st floor. There are several lounges and rooms next to the bar where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or cognac after your meal. You are very welcome to use the lounges after a meal to relax.
“Munkens Trøyst” wine cellar
Behind the beautifully carved doors in the lower ground floor, you will find the hotel’s wine cellar, named “Munkens Trøyst” which translates as “The Solace of Monks”. The name has been inspired by the ancient monastery that was once in Lofthus. The focus here is on delicious drinks, local traditions, and culture related to drinks. You can sample a range of beers and wines, not forgetting the wonderful cider made in Hardanger. The décor will take you on a trip back in time.
