Hotel Eilean Iarmain

Hotel Eilean Iarmain, located on the beautiful Isle of Skye, is privately owned, and provides exceptional, intimate accommodations. Situated on a sheltered bay in the south of Skye, the hotel has expansive views over the Sound of Sleat to the Hills of Knoydart on the mainland. This traditional hotel, retains its old-world charm, and provides each guest with a truly genuine highland welcome, from the moment they arrive. Beyond a wonderful welcome and Highland hospitality, the old fashioned character of the hotel also remains intact, and tartan carpets, a golden eagle and stag antlers adorn the Hall. The entire hotel is decorated in cotton and linen chintzes, with traditional furniture. There are log fires in the reception rooms, and a wood-panelled dining room, where candlelit dinners can be enjoyed overlooking the bay and the Isleornsay lighthouse. The Birlinn Restaurant boasts a 2 AA Rosette award, and offers excellent a la carte dining, The well-stocked bar - The Praban Bar - offers a particularly good selection of malt whiskies and local real ale.

Some rooms are wood-lined, and one has a 19th century canopied bed from nearby Armadale Castle.  The interiors are light and airy, with tile and check fabrics with painted and pine furniture. Birlinn Restaurant: Hotel Eilean Iarmain has won many awards for its cuisine, wine list, hospitality and comfort. It was chosen as "the most romantic hotel in Great Britain and Ireland" by the AA. Enjoy a la carte dining in Birlinn Restaurant where staff are happy to advise you on your choice from a wide selection of local seafood and game complemented by wine from the excellent wine list. The menus reflect the abundance of fresh local produce, venison from the Estate and langoustines landed at the old stone pier of Eilean Iarmain. The wine list has received Les Routiers Corps d'Elite Wine Awards. After dinner enjoy coffee and petit fours in the cosy sitting room with its stunning views across the  bay to the lighthouse of Isle Ornsay and beyond to the hills of Knoydart. An Praban Bar: For a more informal atmosphere, you may choose to enjoy lunch or dinner served in the comfort of the Praban bar with its open log fire and wood panelled walls. There is an extensive menu including local shellfish and seafood.
