Fretheim Hotel
Fretheim Hotel is a first-class hotel close to the Flåmsbana railway and the idyllic Sognefjord. A perfect starting point for cycling trips along Rallarvegen (the Navvies road), walks in the valleys of Flåmdalen and Aurlandsdalen and boat trips on the Sognefjord.
The hotel offers several room categories — from standard rooms and rooms with a balcony and a view to the 17 historical rooms located in the original farmhouse building, where guests can enjoy the unique opportunity of experiencing a now lost grand era. The rooms are filled with antiques, bathtubs with lion feet and pull chain toilets.
There are plenty of opportunities for a unique experiences in the surrounding area. The hotel restaurant has views of the mountains and fjord, and our food is made from local, short-distance produce.
Historical Fretheim Hotel has many and long traditions, and today’s building shows the adaption from the hotel’s beginning until today. The newest part of the hotel was completed in the year 2000 and a glass facade links the new part with the historical part from 1870 – 1970.

Fretheim Hotel in Flåm features 122 charming guestrooms offering nice views of the surrounding fjord landscape and most of them facing the Aurlandsfjord. Almost all rooms are carpet-free and reflect different periods in the hotel's history from 1870 to the present.

Local food has always been served at the hotel, which is no surprise, with some of the best producers of cheese, meat, fruits, and vegetables right outside the door.
