The Tower dates back to the 1430s, and the Farmhouse 1800s; both properties are exclusively yours to use during your stay, meaning you may roam freely between the two distinct and fascinating periods of Irish history. Clomantagh has been meticulously and lovingly restored, and can now sleep up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. Four of the rooms are in the Farmhouse building, which is linked to the 15th Tower House on two levels, which houses the last bedroom and the fully-equipped kitchen. This is the castle stay you've been dreaming of.

On the Map: Kilkenny City is located in County Kilkenny, in the southeast midlands of Ireland. Kilkenny is well-served by a good network of roads - the M9/N10 from Dublin (to the northeast) and N9/N10 from Waterford City (to the south).

Kilkenny, or the Marble City as it is known, is one of Ireland's oldest towns, and proud of it. Its array of ancient buildings is unrivalled. It is renowned for being a vibrant cultural center, devoted to the musical and visual arts. Its two most impressive landmarks are Kilkenny Castle, founded in 1172 and privately owned until 1967, and St. Canice's Cathedral. The current structure of the cathedral dates from the 13th century, though this is nowhere near the beginning of its story, which is rich in folklore and legend. There is no shortage of pubs to explore and enjoy in Kilkenny and during the summer the city is always full of life. The summer also sees the city host an Arts Festival and a very highly regarded Comedy Festival called the Cat Laughs.

Kilkenny is located just 13 miles east of Clomantagh. The smaller village of Freshford is even closer - just 4 miles east of Clomantagh en route to Kilkenny.

There will be no other guests or a management presence during your stay, and therefore no meals are included or supplied.
The castle has a fully-equipped Kitchen area with a Stanley Range, so it is perfectly possible to prepare your own meals.

A great variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes are available in Kilkenny City, just 13 miles to the east.
