Castle Durrow
Castle Durrow is a magnificent Stately Manor, located in the village of Durrow, County Laois. The mansion was constructed on the banks of the River Erkina by Captain William Flower (later to become Viscount Ashbrook) in 1716. Its pre-Palladian design and formal gardens were the height of fashion in their day, and the grey/blue-cut stone contrasts with the breathtaking views of the wonderful surrounding landscape. Guests can explore the Estate and surrounding woodlands and forests, or stroll along the miles of river pathways. Discover the walled gardens, where much of the organic produce for Durrow's restaurant is grown for our restaurant. The formal grounds are a gardener's paradise and instructive tours are proudly presented by the Estate's Head Gardener on a daily basis.
