Butler House
Set amidst the charming and historic streets of Kilkenny City, a stay at Butler House ensures an experience as rich as its surroundings. A central facet in the history of the Kilkenny Castle estate, Butler House was formerly home to the Earls of Ormonde, who built the castle, stables, and rear coach houses. Impressive staircases, plastered ceilings, marble fireplaces, and an enchanting walled garden are all highlights of this distinguished Georgian property. In 1972 a wonderful restoration by Kilkenny Design brought the home back to its former glory, before being purchased and opened in 1989 as the hotel you can enjoy today. The delightful surroundings and professional and warm staff at Butler House ensure a truly memorable visit to Kilkenny City.
