Bergen – Ulvik

After breakfast, you’ll set off on a guided walking tour of Bergen, led by a local expert who will bring the city’s rich history and culture to life. Later, your journey continues to the picturesque village of Ulvik, with a fascinating stop at the reconstructed Gol Stave Church in the Gordarike medieval park. This striking replica of the 13th-century original showcases intricate woodwork and Viking-inspired artistry—sure to capture your imagination. The scenic drive then leads to the awe-inspiring Vøringfossen waterfall, one of Norway’s most spectacular natural wonders. This evening, you’ll have free time to explore Ulvik at your own pace—perhaps by sampling regional cuisine or relaxing at your hand-picked hotel.

Ulvik – Steinstø – Ulvik

You’ll begin today with a stop at the remarkable Hardanger Bridge—one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Framed by breathtaking scenery, it’s a perfect spot to admire both nature and Norwegian engineering. From there, we’ll continue to the Hardangerfjord Akvasenter in Steinstø, where we’ll gain insight into Norway’s salmon farming industry. An included lunch will give you the opportunity to sample some of the region’s finest local specialties. Later, you will return to Ulvik with a leisurely afternoon to relax and soak up the stunning surroundings at your own pace.

Ulvik – Voss and Flåm – Sogndal

Following this morning’s breakfast, you’ll make your way to Myrdal, where a true tour highlight awaits. Upon arrival, you’ll board one of the world’s most scenic railways: the renowned Flåm Railway. Sit back and take in the breathtaking views of the Aurlandsfjord on this unforgettable panoramic journey. Later this afternoon, you’ll continue north to Sogndal, where you’ll have the evening free to spend as you wish.

Flam, Western Norway

On the map: The charming town of Flåm is situated at the innermost point of Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord - the world's deepest and second-longest fjord.

Surrounded by sheer mountainsides, towering waterfalls, and narrow valleys, this area is paradise for anyone seeking the unique and spectacular nature that Norway has to offer. Flåm offers some of the most well-known attractions in Norway. Flåmsbana - the Flåm Railway - is widely recognized as one of the steepest and most lovely railways in the world. The dramatic Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the Aurlandsfjord. South of Flåm Harbor, the 17th-century wooden Flåm Church lies in the valley. Flåm is also home of the spectacular Nærøyfjord, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

As Flåm is one of four harbours that welcome cruise ships to Aurland Harbour Authority, large cruise ships gliding into Sognefjord to Flåm harbour are a daily sight in spring and summer.

This morning, you’ll set off on a scenic ferry ride through the Geiranger Fjord, taking in the spectacular sights of the Seven Sisters, Bridal Veil, and Suitor waterfalls along the way. Weather permitting, you’ll then head up to Dalsnibba Summit—Europe’s highest fjord viewpoint—for unforgettable panoramic views. From the Geiranger Skywalk Platform, perched 1,500 meters above sea level, you’ll have plenty of time to soak in the breathtaking landscape. Later, enjoy a free evening to explore Stryn’s local charm or unwind at your carefully selected hotel.

Geirangerfjord, Western Norway

On the map: In southwest Norway, and northeast of Bergen, are two extraordinary fjords: Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord. They are just 80 miles apart, and they are among the world’s longest and deepest—the cobalt blue water is almost surreal. Narrow and steep, dramatic rocks walls rise 4,600 feet above the Norwegian Sea and reach 1,700 feet below sea level.

Waterfalls and wild rivers course down the sheer walls through forests, glacial lakes, glaciers, and breathtaking mountains. Plants, plus land and sea animals, are abundant here. This area is ideal for hikers and for those who simply want to take in the awesome wonder of Norway.

Stryn – Leikanger

First on your itinerary today is the awe-inspiring Briksdal Glacier. A Troll car will take you right to the base of this mighty natural wonder, where you’ll have time to take in its raw, untamed beauty. From there, you’ll continue to the Sunnfjord Museum—an open-air museum that brings to life the daily routines of 19th-century farmers and tenant families in the region. After a day full of discovery, you’ll travel south to Leikanger, where you’ll enjoy a delicious Norwegian dinner and raise a glass to your final night on this unforgettable journey.

Leikanger, Western Norway

On the Map: Leikanger is a former municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It was located on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. It is located approximately 25km east of Balestrand.

Leikanger is Norway’s fourth-largest food producer, with around 80,000 apple, pear, and plum trees thriving in the hills above the village. This fertile landscape is also a haven for bees, producing some of Norway’s finest honey, available for purchase in local stores.

In recent years, Leikanger has seen a rise in raspberry production. If you visit in autumn at the right time, you might even find freshly picked raspberries for sale along the roadside.

Day 8

Daily Itinerary

Leikanger – Bergen

After breakfast, you’ll board the ferry back to Bergen, where it will be time to say farewell to your fellow travellers. What an incredible journey it’s been!
