Now a huge basin of dusty grass, Circus Maximus was ancient Rome’s largest chariot racetrack, a 250,000-seater capable of holding up to a quarter of the city’s population. The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, now a church dedicated to St. Mary of the Martyrs, in Rome. The stunning building is circular with a portico of large granite Corinthian columns, each weighing 60 tons, under a pediment. A rectangular vestibule links the portico to the rotunda, which is under a concrete dome with a central opening to the sky. Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon’s dome is still the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome, standing at 142 feet. Although it is a mystery how it managed to survive years of barbarian raids while the rest of Rome’s monuments crumbled, the Pantheon remains the best preserved Ancient Roman monument. The Florence Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower, is the main church of Florence. Ponte Vecchio is a medieval stone segmental arch bridge over the Arno River in Florence, Italy. The bridge is famous for still having shops built along it, something that was once very common. While butchers initially occupied the shops, the present tenants include jewelers, art dealers and souvenir sellers. Unlike all of the other bridges in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio was not destroyed by Germans during World War II, making it a symbol of resilience. This symbolism was furthered in 1966, when a catastrophic flood hit the city and threatened the bridge. The bridge was repeatedly struck by large debris carried by the raging waters of the Arno and whole tree-trunks pierced right through the shops on the upstream side. The Indian pacific train ride from Sidney to Atlanta a Dream come true. The train is exquisite. The meals are fabulous and the staff wonderful. Adelaide arrangements and tours were excellent. The 14-night Ireland vacation was pretty amazing. While it included a lot of driving and staying in nine different hotels, I don't think there is any other way to see as much of the country as we did. Every hotel check-in and scheduled event went smoothly with no glitches or delays. Ireland is such a beautiful place with an incredibly rich history. Visible everywhere you go are ruins of ancient fortresses, each telling an amazing story of the founders and conquerors who shaped this country. People in Ireland are proud, warm, friendly and happy. We had a trip of a lifetime in Scotland, thanks to Joleen, Destination Expert for Authentic Vacations. Words cannot express how exciting and memorable this trip was. It was a journey of beautiful sights and exceptional adventures. It was all choregraphed perfectly with Joleen's assistance and direction. The timing of our stays and adventures worked out perfectly.
The hotels were perfect and amazing in every way. I could go on and on about the experiences, adventures and breathtaking countryside, but it would turn into a novel by the time I was done.

The only words to describe our family vacation to Ireland and Scotland are EXCEPTIONALLY PERFECT! Jennifer was amazing during our planning process, answering every question quickly and with superb recommendations. (There were a lot of questions with seven of us!) She was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and showed true excitement for our family’s dream vacation (I even told her at one point that she should come with us). Every excursion was exactly how she said it would be, with the beauty of both countries almost overwhelming at times. We’d decided on a private chauffeur for our week in Ireland so we didn’t have to plan around more people than we already had; best decision ever! Our driver, Roddy, was so knowledgeable, friendly, and fun that we basically adopted him into our family, and didn’t want to part with him when it was time.
