Once on the distillery grounds, one begins to understand just how unique the distillery and its surroundings are. Great efforts to restore the main distillery building, cistern room, aging warehouses and many other aspects of the grounds have the left the property totally transformed, with more exciting developments in the works. Drive to Versailles
Set off for your final location; Versailles, which is just 1 hour drive from Bardstown. Along the way, you may want to stop at Four Roses Distillery and the Wild Turkey Distillery, both along your route. Check into your country inn in Versailles, which is surrounded by old white oak, hard maple, sycamore, dogwood and magnolia trees. Also on the grounds is a brick patio for guests to enjoy breakfast, read and relax. The main house was built in 1810 and is an excellent example of early 1800’s Kentucky Vernacular architecture with stone pilasters and a dog trot.
