Cuillin Hills Hotel, Skye

Our stunning hotel in Portree, on the famous Island of Skye enjoys some of the finest and most spectacular views from any hotel in Scotland.

From the moment you arrive you cannot fail to appreciate the Highland setting of this hotel.

Set within fifteen acres of mature private grounds overlooking Portree Bay with magnificent views over the Sound of Raasay to the Cuillin Mountain range. We welcome all visitors whether on a seasonal, weekend or mid-week break.

Rooms & Amenities

The bedrooms of the Cuillin Hills Hotel blend comforting tradition with modern simplistic style. Our character is individual dècor layered with classic furniture to provide and preserve the elegant interior of the hotel.

Retire for the night to one of our 34 bespoke bedrooms; each room is individually styled to a very high standard, some are of traditional style, while others are more contemporary.

STANDARD ROOMS

Our entry-level rooms are the Standard Collection - wonderful & comfortable, with everything that you would expect from a 4 Star hotel, but with a heightened sense of luxury.

These rooms look out over the grounds of the hotel, towards our gardens and offer all the amenities you would expect in a hotel of quality. Standards are quality rooms at a level you would expect to be classed as Superior, without a Superior cost ~ we don’t add the enhanced price tag, just the quality.

PREMIER COLLECTION WITH SEA VIEW

Our next tier of rooms are the Premiers - larger than the Standard Collection, more bed size options (both King and Queen) and a level of comfort, finish & thought that is of a different class.

We must also insist that you look out of the windows with a Premier Room, as you will never forget the view that is beyond idyllic: right over the bay of Portree towards the majesty of the Cuillin mountains.

If living space is higher on the agenda, then you will adore our Premier Turret Rooms. These do not boast the magical views of the Cuillins but do offer you pleasing circular turreted seating areas, with aspects over our 15 acres of grounds.

TURRET DELUXE ROOMS

If living space is higher on the agenda, then you will adore our Turret Deluxe Rooms. These do not boast the magical views of the Cuillins but do offer you pleasing circular turreted seating areas.

PREMIER DELUXE ROOMS WITH SEA VIEW

Our Premier Deluxe Range, with breathtaking vantage point views, across the bay of Portree, towards the Cuillin mountains. In fact the view can be enjoyed even whilst stretching out in your bed.

The comfort, thought and careful touches will leave you relaxed and wishing you would never leave. We know you deserve it, don’t you?

Dining

Our restaurant offers diners one of the best views on Skye whilst enjoying high quality local Scottish produce including an extensive selection of Seafood dishes.

We pride ourselves on offering our customers a friendly, relaxed and excellent value dining experience.

Elegant food needs an elegant restaurant and The View is certainly that, offering stunning food in a sublime setting.

At the Cuillin Hills Hotel, the quality of Skye and Scotland’s produce is fundamental to writing the menus. The chefs have been introduced to wild produce which gets collected from the surrounding hills and shorelines. Freshly caught scallops, langoustines, lobsters and crabs are delivered daily to the kitchen. Davy Urquhart, the head game keeper on Skye harvests wild Red and Roe deer from Glen Varigal. John Carfield of “Skye smoke house”, smokes farmed Scottish salmon in his St Kilda designed cleat which is served through-out the day. All of the dishes are seasoned and finished with Isle of Skye Sea Salt. The meats served In the Hotel have been sourced from York’s of Dundee who are proud to be suppliers of high quality Scottish produce.

Our Head Chef Scott Morrison began his career in Portree at the age of 15. After his passion and talent for food was recognised, he became the Sous Chef at Martin Wisharts Michelin star restaurant at Loch Lomond and the Isle of Eriska Hotel in Argyll. After returning home, he became the head chef at the Hotel and continues to prepare and serve the freshest produce that Scotland and Skye has to offer.
